May

Welcome to 1st Grade
 My name is Mrs. May

First and foremost, I want to welcome you and your child to a new and
exciting stage in your child’s life!

I am a graduate from New Mexico State University with honors and was a Crimson Scholar.  I have a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education.  I have been teaching 1st grade for 10 years here at Kohlberg Elementary.  I am very excited to start this school year 2014-2015.  I looking forward to working with you and your child.

I am committed to high quality education

A child’s early years sets a foundation for the rest of their lives.
Family involvement correlates with higher academic achievement which is why I am committed to a family-centered philosophy.
Children need care, patience, love, and understanding.

I WILL….

I will nurture and foster each child’s developmental areas such as their social/emotional, cognitive, physical/motor, and language development.
I will promote good health, nutrition, and a safe environment.
I will use organizational and guidance strategies that foster responsibility, independence, self-reliance, and positive social interactions.

TOGETHER WE WILL MAKE A DIFFERENCE!!!
