5th Grade Connections - Stapleton, Beth

Welcome to Connections

I am delighted to introduce myself to you as Kohlberg's fifth grade teacher of the Connections program. Although I'm not a native of Texas, I've hung my hat here for many years. I graduated from Coronado High School and received my education degree from the University of Texas at El Paso, so this is definitely home now. I was born and raised in western New York state along with my two older brothers and moved here with my family when I was sixteen years old. I have two daughters, Evan and Erin, two dogs, and three cats. I am very proud of all seven of my "children". My interests include reading, cooking, watercolor painting, and baseball (NY Yankees, of course.) My philosophy on teaching is best summed up by author W.B. Yeats when he said, "Education is not the filling of a pail but the lighting of a fire." I truly believe that children are capable of great things when given the tools, motivation, and positive environment necessary to succeed. I strive to enhance each child's learning experience every day. I look forward to another successful year with you and your children.
